Mount Washington is a diverse historic residential neighborhood Located northeast of Downtown Los Angeles. There has been a strong influx of new residents who have been drawn to the neighborhood for its convenient access to job hubs in downtown L.A., Hollywood and Pasadena, highly ranked elementary school, inclusive community engagement, and lower cost of living than LA's Los Feliz and Silver Lake neighborhoods. Founded in 1909, it includes the Southwest Museum, the world headquarters of the Self-Realization Fellowship, and Eldred Street, one of the three steepest streets in Los Angeles. The Mount Washington is the anti-cookie-cutter neighborhood, full of unique homes and terrain. Many of the properties have nice views and large lots. The area has become one of the most affluent areas in East LA. It is quickly becoming a popular alternative to the westside and finding more bang for your buck.
